Lit Cheong CHONG

Chairman

Lit Cheong CHONG is Chairman of Mitbana and concurrently Group Chief Corporate Officer for Surbana Jurong (SJ) Group. In the latter role, Mr Chong provides oversight across SJ Group’s corporate services functions as well as the Group’s growth in the Japanese market.

Prior to this, he held several senior appointments in the CapitaLand Group as CEO CapitaLand Commercial, CEO Regional Investments and Deputy Group Chief Corporate Officer.

Before joining CapitaLand in 2011, Mr Chong held several key roles in Singapore government agencies including CEO of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, CEO of Jurong Town Corporation (JTC), and Managing Director of the National Science & Technology Board (now called A*STAR). He also served in the Economic Development Board (EDB) from 1986 where he held several key appointments. For his service with the government, Mr Chong was awarded the Public Service Medal (Gold) in 2003.

Mr Chong is a Mombusho (Colombo Plan) Scholar and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic) from the University of Tokyo. He also completed an Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD in France in 1994 and the Tsinghua Executive Program in Shanghai, China, in 2004.

Naoshi OGIKUBO

Board Member

Naoshi OGIKUBO presently serves as the Division Chief Operating Officer for Mitsubishi Corporation’s (MC) Urban Development Group.

Mr Ogikubo also holds directorships in Mitsubishi Corp.-UBS Realty Inc. (Japan), a joint venture asset management company of MC & UBS A.G.; Diamond Realty Management Inc. (Japan); Diamond Realty Investments Inc. (USA); and MC Urban Development Inc. (Japan).

Mr Ogikubo holds a Bachelor of Arts from Waseda University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in the United States.

Hiroshi NAKANISHI

Board Member

Hiroshi NAKANISHI is currently Senior Vice President & General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) Singapore. In this role, he oversees the operations & strategic development of MC’s Singapore Branch.

Previously, Mr Nakanishi held various leadership positions in MC including as Division COO of MC’s Asset Finance Division; Chairman of the Board at MC Aviation Partners Inc.; Director of Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation; Director of Vermillion Aviation Holdings Ltd.; Director of Marunouchi Capital Inc.; and General Manager of Aviation Business Department.

Mr Nakanishi holds a B.A. in Economics from Keio University.

Yee Ean PANG

Board Member

Yee Ean PANG is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Surbana Jurong Capital, the investment arm of Surbana Jurong Group that focuses on financing of infrastructure and urban development. 

Prior to this appointment, Mr Pang was Director General of Investment Operations at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), where he was responsible for identifying and executing strategic infrastructure investments in Asia, financing both sovereign and private sectors.

Between 2013-2016, Mr Pang had been the Group COO of Surbana Jurong, and CEO of Surbana International Consultants.

Mr Pang also previously held various senior positions at Ascendas (now a member of CapitaLand Group). He was Senior Vice President of Real Estate Funds where he co-led the SGX listing of a S$700 million Ascendas Hospitality Trust, and Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Ascendas Services Pte Ltd, overseeing asset management of Ascendas’ industrial & commercial developments. In his time with Ascendas, Mr Pang spent 6 years stationed in India, including as Head of North India and Head of Hyderabad.

Yee Ean holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.

Gareth WONG

Board Member

Gareth WONG is the Chief Executive Officer of Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for the overall growth and development of the company.

Prior to this appointment, Gareth was Deputy Managing Director at Surbana Jurong (SJ) Capital, the investment arm of SJ Group. He was also previously Group Director in the Office of the SJ Group Chairman, and concurrently Principal Private Secretary to the Chairman, Changi Airport Group Singapore. Between 2013 – 2016, Gareth was stationed full-time in Yangon to establish, and subsequently spearhead the growth of SJ’s Myanmar Office.

Gareth is a recipient of the Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship (SAFOS) and holds a BSc. in Economics (First Class Hons, Dean’s List) from University College London, as well as a MSc. in Political Science from Columbia University in the city of New York.

Hidetoshi SUZUKI

Board Member

Hidetoshi SUZUKI is the Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer of Mitbana Pte. Ltd. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the company, he also oversees investment opportunities and local partnerships.

Prior to this appointment, Hidetoshi was General Manager for Mitsubishi Corporation’s ASEAN real estate interests. He also spent 4 years in Surabaya, Indonesia from 2002 – 2006, as Project Manager overseeing the construction of the Juanda International Airport, Surabaya. Hidetoshi has more than 26 years’ experience in the real estate and urban development industry, including residential, retail, office, industrial, infrastructure and township developments in Japan, ASEAN and the United States.

Hidetoshi holds a B.A. in Economics from Keio University.

Gareth WONG

Chief Executive Officer

Gareth WONG is the Chief Executive Officer of Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for the overall growth and development of the company.

Prior to this appointment, Gareth was Deputy Managing Director at Surbana Jurong (SJ) Capital, the investment arm of SJ Group. He was also previously Group Director in the Office of the SJ Group Chairman, and concurrently Principal Private Secretary to the Chairman, Changi Airport Group Singapore. Hidetoshi SUZUKI

Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer

Hidetoshi SUZUKI is the Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer of Mitbana Pte. Ltd. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the company, he also oversees investment opportunities and local partnerships.

Prior to this appointment, Hidetoshi was General Manager for Mitsubishi Corporation’s ASEAN real estate interests. Masafumi MANNO

Investment Committee Member

Masafumi MANNO is currently a General Manager in the Urban Development Department at Mitsubishi Corporation (MC). He is based in MC’s Tokyo Headquarters and is responsible for overseeing MC’s urban development projects undertaken in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Myanmar. 

Masafumi has over 28 years of experience in finance, real estate investment & asset management, strategic planning and human resources management in MC’s Tokyo Headquarters and subsidiaries in Japan and the U.S..

Prior to this appointment, Masafumi was General Manager at Urban Development Group in MC’s Tokyo Headquarters and was responsible for human resources & general affairs.

Between 2012-2016, Masafumi was Executive Vice President in MC Financial Service Ltd. (New York, NY) and Chief Operating Officer in MC Asset Management Holdings, LLC (Stamford, CT), during which he formed and led one of the largest commercial mortgage-​backed securities (CMBS) conduit projects in North Americas. 

Masafumi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from Waseda University, Japan.

Nicholoas RIORDAN

Investment Committee Member

Nicholas RIORDAN is presently Director of Investments at Surbana Jurong (SJ) Capital, the investment arm of SJ Group which sources, invests, develops and manages projects across the entire value chain of the urbanisation, industrialisation & infrastructure domains. 

Prior to this appointment, Nicholas was an Investment Director across the Portfolio Management & Asset Management functions in Hastings Infrastructure, based in Australia. Nicholas also held several senior roles in Hastings, including Deputy Portfolio Manager for Hasting’s Infrastructure Fund, Alternate Director to the Board of Queensland Airports, and Head of Valuations.

Nicholas graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Melbourne. His post-graduate qualifications include designations as CFA Charterholder and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the real asset sector and has worked in Melbourne, London and Singapore.

Toshihiro OTSUJI

Director, Investments

Toshihiro OTSUJI is Director (Investments) at Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for investments in urban development projects across all of Mitbana’s selected ASEAN markets. 

Toshihiro has more than 17 years’ experience in the real estate and urban development industry, including residential, retail, office, industrial and hotel assets in Japan, China and ASEAN. Prior to this appointment, Toshihiro led a project management team from Mitsubishi Corporation on a US$700 million mixed-use development in Yangon, Myanmar from 2017-2019. Toshihiro also worked for Mitsubishi Corp.-UBS Realty Inc., where he was responsible for the acquisition and disposition of retail assets for Japan Retail Fund Investment Corporation, the largest J-REIT specializing in retail properties.

Toshihiro holds a M.A. in Civil Engineering from Tokyo University, and is a licensed First-class Architect in Japan.

Jungo SASAKI

Director, Development Management

Jungo SASAKI is Director (Development Management) at Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for the overall management of the team’s investments in urban development projects across all of Mitbana’s selected ASEAN markets. Jungo joins Mitbana from Surbana Jurong Capital, and was previously Vice President, Project Development in CapitaLand. Jungo also held various other portfolios during his time with CapitaLand, including Managing Director of CapitaLand Japan Kabushiki Kaisha, Group Country Head of Japan, and Director of B-Life (now known as Daiwa House Reit Investment Corporation) J-REIT.

Jungo holds a BSc. in Engineering from Nihon University in Japan and is a recipient of the “Kin-no Tamago Sho” (“Golden Egg”) Award from “The All-Japan University Architectural Design Competition”. He is a fully-qualified architect registered with the Japan Institute of Architects (JIA).

Takeshi SAITO

Director, Administration

Takeshi SAITO is Director (Administration) at Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for all corporate administrative affairs including finance & accounting, human resources, and communications.

Takeshi started his career at Mitsubishi Corporation as a risk manager within the hedge fund business. Over the past 17 years, he has been engaged in various financial businesses within Mitsubishi Corporation ranging from financial derivatives trading to the leasing business. Takeshi also worked for Mitsubishi Corporation’s Business Investment Management Department where he supported the company’s Investment Committee in analyzing pipeline investments across various industry sectors.

Takeshi holds a B.A. in Economics from Keio University.

Joe TAN

Senior Manager, Business Development

Joe TAN is Senior Manager (Business Development) at Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for evaluating and executing the team’s investments in urban development projects primarily in the Philippines & Myanmar.

Joe has over 8 years of real estate experience in Asian emerging and frontier markets, spanning the commercial (retail and office), residential, hospitality, mixed-use development and industrial asset classes. Prior to this appointment, Joe was based in Manila (2018 – 2020) and Yangon (2017 – 2018) with Keppel Land and covered investment & asset management roles across the Philippines, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. Joe was also previously based in Yangon (2013 – 2014) during his time with Yoma Strategic Holdings, a Myanmar conglomerate.

Joe holds a Joint Honours BSc. in Finance & Economics from Lancaster University.

Shannon ONG

Financial Controller

Shannon ONG is Financial Controller for Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory & financial reporting, budget & forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Prior to joining Mitbana, Shannon was with the Surbana Jurong (SJ) Group’s Group Tax team handling various tax initiatives including Mergers & Acquisitions and cross-border structuring. Shannon started her career in EY before joining KPMG’s international tax advisory team working predominantly with clients in the real estate and alternative investments industry. Shannon was based in KPMG’s Tax and Legal Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for 3 months in 2016.

Shannon holds a BBA (Accountancy) with a specialisation in Finance from the National University of Singapore. She is also a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

Yukihiko (Yogi) ANDO

Senior Manager, Investments

Yukihiko (Yogi) ANDO is Senior Manager (Investments) at Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for supporting the business development and evaluation of potential investments. Prior to this appointment, Yogi worked at Mitsubishi Corporation’s Tokyo Headquarters, where he was responsible for the management of real estate development projects in Myanmar, Vietnam and India. In his time in Tokyo, Yogi served as a chairman of Mitsubishi Corporation’s staff union for 1 year, representing over 3,400 employees. Yogi also spent 1 year in Los Angeles, U.S.A from 2012 to 2013, as part of Mitsubishi Corporation’s Global Trainee program.

Yogi holds a B.A. in Economics from Kyushu University.

Loey KIM

Manager, Investments

Loey KIM is Manager (Investments) at Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating the team’s investments in urban development projects primarily in Indonesia & Vietnam.  Prior to this appointment, Loey was with Goldman Sachs, where he was part of the Credit Research team from 2015 to 2018. During his time at Goldman Sachs, he conducted in-depth fundamental credit research on various sectors in APAC and evaluated the creditworthiness of trading counterparties.

Loey holds a B.A. in Political Science (Dean’s List) from Waseda University as well as an M.Phil in Management from the University of Cambridge. 

Hailun ZHAO

Senior Associate

Hailun ZHAO is Senior Associate at Mitbana Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for the office’s administrative & marketing operations. She also supports the team’s larger business development efforts. Prior to this appointment, Hailun was with Surbana Jurong (SJ) Group, where she was part of SJ’s marketing team managing marketing collaterals, corporate presentation slides and corporate brochures. Hailun was also part of SJ’s internal business development team that oversaw tender submissions & clarifications, as well as contract signings for the company.

Hailun holds a BBM (Economics & Finance) from the Singapore Institute of Management.

Maresuke ENDO

Maresuke ENDO leads the development of strategic plans & investment directives for the Indonesia team and supports the investment team to close-out the deployment of capital in selected urban investments. A secondee from Mitsubishi Corporation, Maresuke has 15 years’ experience deploying & managing infrastructure investments, including a global infrastructure fund manager with US$2.5 billion AUM in the Global Strategic Investment Alliance (GSIA). He also held various roles in the oil & gas industry, including dealing with investments & asset management of FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) & FSO (floating storage and offloading).

Maresuke holds a MSc. in Civil & Earth Resource Engineering from Kyoto University, and completed the Program for Leadership Development (PLD) at Harvard Business School.

Eugene HENG

Eugene HENG oversees the corporate and strategic affairs of the Joint Venture projects in Indonesia. Prior to joining Mitbana, Eugene was with China Fortune Land Development (CFLD) working on township projects in Vietnam and Indonesia. Eugene started his career as a management executive at CapitaLand and completed various rotational assignments in fund management, strategic planning, research and marketing. Eugene was also based in Jakarta for 1 year from 2016 – 2017 overseeing the sales launch preparation for “The Stature Jakarta”, CapitaLand’s first integrated development in Indonesia.

Eugene graduated from Singapore Management University with a double degree in Economics & Business Management (Summa Cum Laude). He is also a recipient of the Economic Society of Singapore Excellence Award, Ministry of Trade & Industry Economist Service Prize and SMU CIRCLE Award.

Wee Hooi GAN

Wee Hooi GAN oversees all construction-related matters for the Joint Venture projects in Indonesia. Prior to this appointment, Wee Hooi was Project Director in Surbana Jurong (SJ) Myanmar from 2016 – 2021 overseeing the planning, execution, control and monitoring of various projects across the country. 

Wee Hooi is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is experienced in administering local and international contracts such as FIDIC, SIA, PSSCOC etc. Wee Hooi has held various appointments in multinational corporations such as WSP Global and Hitachi Nippon Steel, and was involved in multidisciplinary mixed-use projects such as the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort in Singapore, as well as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) infrastructure projects. 

Wee Hooi holds a B.Eng. in Electrical & Electronic (First Class Hons) from the University of Lincoln (United Kingdom, UK) and holds professional memberships with Project Management Institute (USA), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.

Seumas YEO

Seumas YEO is responsible for strategy, business planning and finance functions of the Joint Venture projects in Indonesia.

Prior to joining Mitbana, Seumas was with CoHive in Jakarta, where he led the corporate finance team to create proprietary financial models for new expansions, cashflow budgeting, and runway analysis for subsequent fund-raising rounds. Prior to moving to Jakarta, he worked at Ascendas Reit and Keppel Reit, where he was involved in executing real estate transactions worth a combined value of ~S$1.5 billion across various asset classes in office, business parks, industrial, and logistics.

Seumas holds a MSc. in Applied Finance (Dean’s List) and a BSc. in Economics (Dean’s List, Summa Cum Laude) from Singapore Management University. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
